As a service support community, we should have a strong interest in standards and tools that provide discipline and controls over support work instructions and all the other documents and records that comprise a company's support procedures. ISO standards, particularly ISO9000 provide this capability. ISO9000 implementations can be audited by external (certified bodies) to provide even greater creditability for the organisation's service capability.
